Facilities at Harwich Rock School Centre.

November 2018 Show at the Westcliff Theatre Clacton.

What are the plans for the Rock School Club in the next few months?

Sessions are now running on Monday and Wednesdays and we are open to new members.

The facility is COVID safe. Anyone that does not feel well should not attend the session. Only one band at a time are in the building with a specific start time, temperatures are checked on entry, hand sanitiser is provided on entry and the band moves directly into a rehearsal room. These include partition screens between performers, and performers wear masks. We request that all musicians bring their own instruments with plectrum and drumsticks. Mics have new filters and will be changed after every band.  The room is equipped with air purification equipment and micro filters and all surfaces are cleaned after each band.  After finishing the session, the band moves directly out of the building. All bands will have accurate arrival times so that we get no mixing of bands when they go in and out. It all works out fine and is easier than it sounds!

This includes a weekly class and pop-in sessions when we are open.

DUE TO COVID 19 CURRENTLY NOT RUNNING Jaywick Cente Martello Tower – The Rock School normally runs regular sessions at Jaywick Martello Tower on Tuesdays with hourly between 5-9pm. We provide all equipment and a one hour supervised session. We cannot make this facility safe at the moment.

The Rock School was set up by local people, who obtained a building, raised funds and built the rehearsal rooms and studios. The charity has run for eleven years and former students now teach and run the sessions. Students won the MFY National Partnership Awards for Rock Pop and Urban in 2013 and 2014,  and bands played at the Music for Youth Proms in the Royal Albert Hall in 2016, 2014, and 2012. In 2018 two acts were invited to visit Biberach Germany to play in an “English Week” Concert.
